Ernesto Guevara (1928 – 1967)
Ernesto “Che” Guevara was the most awesome person ever to have lived. He was described by Sartre as “the most complete human being of our time”. Yes, he killed tons of people but he was by no means evil. He wasn’t disturbed, delusional or paranoid either, he just believed truly in something, a man with a pure mind and soul, a true ideologist who believed more in the revolution than in his own immortality. Chuck Norris was born after he died, otherwise Che would have chopped him up into little pieces and fed them to the pigs. He was also extremely charismatic and is still a national symbol today in Latin America.

Evaluation

Multimedia Poetry Evaluation

I learned some more about how to use Windows Movie Maker. I am quite good now in using Movie Maker and I also know how to solve some problems I encountered which are internal faults in the program. I also figured out how to solve some problems with the format, animation and colors. It took me a while to realize that I can blur the background picture in order to make the text more legible. I could have used the color red but I didn’t think it would go with the color scheme.
I am quite satisfied with my plan, design and final product. My plan was very detailed, and although I didn’t follow everything exactly as intended, overall I still got most of it done on time as expected. I also followed most of my design specification, but throughout the creation of the video I realized some things that I hadn’t considered before, and changed some things accordingly.
I am very satisfied with my final product. I got many positive comments from parents and teachers, and also one or two students. I was the only student who chose a serious political subject, and I am very content with the result.
One of the challenges in this project was the decision at the beginning. I thought that I would not use the poem I had at first intended to, because I thought that the regular rhyme scheme would look very strange but it wasn’t as bad as I had expected when I decided to use the poem anyway. Some other problems were mainly a lot of minor ones that I encountered with Windows Movie Maker, a program that has many faults, such as not letting the music correspond with the video, and so on.
The least challenging was finding the pictures, and setting up the video. It was fun to do, and I had everything in mind of what it would look like. I knew what kind of pictures I would use and could imagine the video in the end.
I didn’t us my time in class as efficiently as I could have, I also did all of the video at home.
I would give myself a good grade for the design, but since I chose a completely different subject than my peers it is very difficult for me to compare.
I would have changed some more minor things, but I didn’t because in the end I didn’t have the time or the patience. Also, it was very difficult for me to find music so I settle with what I had. In my mind, I had the perfect soundtrack to the video but I couldn’t find anything like that anywhere. I was worried that my soundtrack wouldn’t go well with the movie, or change some things about it.
I think next time I will try to find another program besides movie maker to make my video on, as it has too many faults.
This was my favorite project this year, and I think it was very interesting and fun to do. It was an interdisciplinary unit and quite educational. I don’t think anything should be changed in this project.

Design

Design
 Poem approved by Mrs. V
 Time Frame (1-3 min)
 High Resolution images
 Text & Fonts
 Sound (without lyrics)
 Effects/Transitions
 Credits

Design Specification
Step 1: I need to write a poem approved by Mrs. V
• Should have at least 2 verses, with 4 stanzas each (minimum)
• Preferably more than that
• No regular rhyme scheme
• The stanzas should have a lot of syllables, such as Iambic pentameter perhaps (which has 10 syllables, it should not have too few because it wouldn’t look good on the video)
• The pictures in the background will have a high resolution and attractiveness, but should not catch too much attention
• The video needs to be 1-3 minutes long, and I will try to fit it into this time span
I am going to create an example Multimedia Poetry. It will contain some high resolution pictures that are based on my subject. I want most of my pictures to have a similar color and style, and it should go well with my poem. I will try to use pictures that are meaningful but do not distract from the actual text.
My poem is quite serious, so I will use a font that goes well with my poem, and the title will be zooming in and not too silly or distracting. I will use:
• Monotype Corsiva font
• Black and White
• Large fonts
• Fade in, and Slow zoom in animation
• Slides should fade in an out slowly
I need to make sure that the slides stay long enough to be able to read, and that the text itself is legible so that it doesn’t have the same color as the background
I know that red is a color that always shows on pictures, that’s why a lot of people use red but I think it does not go well with the color scheme f my video so I will make the picture in the background blur in some cases where neither black nor white is legible.

Step 1: Both of my poems were approved by Mrs. V. Actually, due to my indecisiveness I am now quite insure of which poem to use. At first I thought that I would not do the first poem because it would seem too much like propaganda, so I wrote another poem. But I was not inspired to write a piece of poetry so I came up with this other poem. It is quite amusing but I'm not sure if it will yield good results on an MMP video.
I think that I will make both videos and see which one is better. I will save them both to storage and present the one which I find more interesting.

My inability to write
A decent piece of poetry
Frustratingly annoying is
The lack of inspiration

A thousand themes run through my head
Too fast to catch and use
Because my thoughts are jumbled up
I’m utterly confused

Random little strips of thought
I catch and then I write them down
Still they don’t make any sense
At least not in that context

My soul is burning with a passion bright
A flaming hot inferno of the heart
And that’s a reason good enough for me
To change the meter of this poetry

MMP Plan

Step 1 I need to write a poem, and get it approved by Mrs. V
I have a lot of work with Shakespeare, but a lot less homework due to it, so I will have done the poem(Step1) by Thursday, 14th May

Step 2 I am going to choose some random pictures from the internet, with a high resolution. I also might additionally download or create a video that I will use.
I will do some research and get all the pictures I need by Friday, May 15th

Step 3 I will put together the video with text on Window Movie Maker.
I will work on the video the next weekend, but due to Shakespeare, I will have limited time, but will have done a great amount by Wednesday 20th May
Step 4 I will then make titles and credits.
The video should be done by that weekend. I will make the titles and credits, and basta.
Step 5 Next, I will choose a suitable soundtrack for my video (preferably without lyrics) and upload it.
By Monday 25th, I will have done and I will add soundtrack and then review it.
Step 6 Finally, I will watch my video many times and revise it, make a few slight changes and then create it.
Tuesday 26th May.
Step 7 Save it to student storage, or try to upload it to YouTube (probably won’t work)
Monday, 1st June, I will have it done and ready to upload.
