My Poem

Despite having uploaded a variety of different poems, I will continue to write some more poems. Originally I had in mind to use the poem "Ghazzah", but I decided against it, being inappropriate for multimedia. I prefer writing poems with a regular rhyme scheme, but I think that it is too old-fashioned for Multimedia Poetry, which is very flashy and a modern way of interpreting poetry. I will therefore write a new poem that will suit the project more. It will be the SHIT!

What is Multi Media Poetry?

They are sometimes known as video poems, and their names are self-explanatory; poems that are put into videos. They usually include music and a sequence of pictures or videos in the background while the text is spoken or just written in the foreground.
Multimedia Poetry is a genre that is evolving into an art form.

I watched many examples of MMP that were saved on the school storage. I didn't like most of them, they had very random pictures and music. The poems did not make any sense, I know that the students who wrote them could have done much better than that.
Also, the quality of the videos were very bad, which is not their fault, as they used an older version of Movie Maker, which produces low res videos.
I searched in the internet for videos of MMP, and I did not find any examples of MMP on Youtube besides the ones that were uploaded from our school last year, the same ones as on Student Storage.

Ghazza

The siren wails, but there’s nowhere to hide
The homes became deathtraps to those who tried
The prized city, so strong, was yesterday
They watch in horror as it fades away

Women, children, dying at the hands
Of people holding hostage their own lands
Still, minds of people mourning for the dead
Are easily corrupted and mislead

Deceived by those, who, fighting for a cause
Herd sacrificial lambs to lion’s claws
‘No cause without a sacrifice’ they say
The scapegoats, victims of their murderous play

The lives and dreams were shattered by the loss
Demoralised by the Crusader’s Cross
But hopes and dreams will never fade away,
The future comes, the past will never stay

Showing Mercy

It was going to be a beautiful day,
The river meandering along its way
The air was calm, the sun was bright,
The weather forecast turned out to be right

But what they don’t know is what they don’t see,
Storm clouds brewing inside of me
Thunder and lightning tearing apart,
And raging within my powerful heart

The wild, untamed beasts called fury and hate,
Are made powerless before it’s too late
As the clouds disappear, in horror they stare
And I suddenly realize
I just don’t care.

I don't know why

I don’t know
Why I left you
For him

We could have
Reached for the stars
And shined among them

But perhaps
He is twice the man
You’ll ever be.
